In March, Duke Energy put the largest rate hike in 20 years into effect across North Carolina to pay for dirty coal. And they’ve already announced their plan to raise rates again later this year.

But you shouldn’t have to pay more for dirty energy.

From Durham, to Wilmington, to Raleigh, to Duke’s headquarters in Charlotte, people across the state are signing up to Occupy Duke on March 31st.

Here’s how it works:

1. You’ve signed up! If not, sign up here. We want Duke and the media to know about every community, every group, and every family that’s standing against their dirty business.
2. Organize your friends and paint your message to Duke Energy. It should say “No profits for pollution- Occupy Duke”
3. Get everyone together to take a photo of your stand against dirty rate hikes. You take your photo in a public place where people can join you or in your front yard. It’s your choice.
4. Upload your photo to this page using the “Add Your Photo” link at the top.
